Details: Anastrozole is employed in the treatment of breast cancer among postmenopausal women. Certain types of breast cancer are fueled by estrogen, a natural hormone. Anastrozole works by reducing the body's estrogen production, thereby slowing down or reversing the growth of these breast cancers.

Administration: Before commencing anastrozole treatment and with each refill, it is advisable to peruse the Patient Information Leaflet, if available, provided by your pharmacist. In case of any queries, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication orally, with or without food, as directed by your physician, usually once daily. For maximum efficacy, use this medication regularly at the same time each day. Do not alter the dosage or frequency of use without medical guidance, as doing so may not hasten improvement but can heighten the risk of serious side effects. Due to the potential for skin and lung absorption leading to harm to an unborn baby, pregnant women or those planning pregnancy should avoid handling this medication or inhaling tablet dust.

Furthermore, seek urgent medical assistance if you experience symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, including rash, itching or swelling (particularly of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
